On 21st January 2003 a Joint Venture Company was formed between Rees Oil & Gas Services and BGP International a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)
The new JV company is named BGP Oil & Gas Services LLC.
BGP International is one of the leading Geophysical Contractors in the world having more than thirty five percent of the world’s land seismic market. It has more than fifty land seismic crews working outside China and as such is the world’s biggest land seismic survey contractor.
BGP’s clients base includes oil majors as Shell Oil company, EXXON, British Petroleum,Agip, Occidental Oil Company and Petrogas Cargali.
BGP’s land crews are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest seismic data recording instruments and energy sources. It is an ISO9001 certified company and conducts its business in line with the E & P Forum, and IAGC guidelines.
In the first year of incorporation in Oman the REES/BGP Joint Venture Company was awarded two major land seismic contracts for major clients in Oman. BGP Oil and GAS services is executing a 3D seismic project for Petroleum Development Oman, and has done projects for Novus, Total, BG Group, Tethys Oil etc.
The combination of BGP’s technical ability, operational experience and commitment to HSE, combined with Rees’ local knowledge and experience of the geophysical business in the Middle East will creat win-win opportunities for the joint venture and its customers, and add significant value to the oil & gas industry in Oman.
